South High School girls soccer team dominated the possession of the ball in second against Geneva but it took two late scores to put the Eagles to rest and give the Rebels a 3-2 win.
The Eagles and Rebels went into the half tied 1-1. The game was kept close by Geneva’s defenders who did a great job of shutting down the Rebels constant attacks downfield. more... |

NORTH KINGSVILLE - The Edgewood Warriors golf team hosted the Jefferson Falcons and Geneva Eagles on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Village Green Golf Course.
Geneva would go on to win the contest after getting two of the lowest scores of the day from Michael Schubert and Nick Pae, who both shot a 37. Ryan Nappi finished with a 39 and Frank Zehe shot a 40 to give the Eagles a team score of 153. Cole Maloy and James Lucas would round out the scoring for Geneva with a 43 and 44 respectively. more... |

JEFFERSON - The Pymatuning Valley girls’ soccer team visited the Jefferson Falcons girls’ soccer team on Thursday, Aug. 26.
Tessa Kellar scored for Pymatuning Valley in the first minute of the game when Jefferson goal keeper Lindsey Becker could not secure the ball after a shot by Samantha Felix. Kellar took the rebound and fired it home to take the early lead in the contest. more... |

ORWELL TOWNSHIP - The Grand Valley Mustangs hosted the Jefferson Falcons in football on Friday, Aug. 27.
Jefferson received the ball first to start the game but quickly turned it over on an interception on their second play. Grand Valley returned the favor right back by coughing up the ball on a fumble. more... |

GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE - The Geneva Eagles, Lakeside Dragons and Jefferson Falcons girls’ golf teams played each other on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at the Geneva-on-the-Lake golf course.
The Lakeside Dragons and Geneva Eagles were both undefeated coming into the match-up.
The Eagles beat out the Dragons 161 to 199, with Jefferson finishing with 257.
The Eagles were led by Megan Lara and Carlin Kern, who shot 36 and 38 respectively. Lindsey Adams shot a 43 and Cami Dodge and Allie VanHoy both shot a 44. Alissa Wortman finished with a 46. more... |

ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP - Kai Johnson and her Edgewood High School cheerleading teammates recently attended the National Cheerleaders Association camp at Ohio State University on Aug. 4-6. The camp was held at the Jesse Owens Center and cheers went on from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Kai Johnson was nominated to be part of the NCA All-American Cheerleading team out of over 250 cheerleaders. Overall, 88 girls were nominated and try-outs were held the next day. Johnson was then selected to be part of the NCA All-American Cheerleading team along with 31 other girls. more... |

CLEVELAND - The 4th Annual Rock N Rumble will be returning to the Nautica Pavilion on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Dozens of mixed martial arts fights are scheduled to take place at Rock N Rumble.

Bikers rallied together at Quaker Steak and Lube in Mentor, OH in order to raise money for the juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The riders performed street bike stunts for anyone who came to watch.
This is the third bike show the organization has done this year.
“We were out at Painesville’s ‘Party in the Park earlier this year and this is our second day at Quaker Steak,” said JDRF team leader Terry Mowery. “We are looking to have more while the weather is still nice. more... |
